The First Step

Taking the first step towards Christ can sometimes be intimidating. However, this belief couldn't be farther from the truth. God is already waiting to reach out to your hands, if you just ask Him too. If you truly want to change your lifestyle around & you truly are sorry for the messed up things you've done, then ask God to forgive you through Jesus Christ, His Son. Before you ask Christ to come into your life, there a few things you should go over & understand. To do this, just follow along the Romans Road to Salvation...

Romans Road to Salvation

1. Admit you are a sinner

Romans 3:10
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God

2. Understand that sin condemnds you to Hell, but you can be forgiven.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

3. Believe that Christ's death was to make amends between you & God, due to your sins.

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

4. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, & then rose again.

Romans 10:9 – 10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

5. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your own personal savior.

Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you're not sure what to say to God & you want to know forgiveness & peace today, you can say a prayer I have said...

"Dear Heavenly Father, I come before you, Lord, as a sinner. Father, I know that because of my decision to avoid what you've set before me, I am condemnded to die & suffer in Hell. But, Lord, I want to be forgiven & I want to spend eternity in Heaven, with You. I am deeply sorry for my sins, Lord, & I pray that You have grace & mercy upon me. I know that You've sent Your Son, Jesus, to come to this earth & die for me. I know He took my punishment, & died on the cross, giving me a chance for salvation. I am now willing to turn from my sins, Lord, & embrace Jesus Christ as my own personal savior. In Jesus' precious name I pray, Amen."
