WHKW Broadcast 23 – A Teaching on Divorce, Part 1

Introduction:

                                      Welcome to the Bible Stands with Pastor Allan McCracken. This program is brought to you by Liberty Bible Church, in Vienna, Ohio. We are an independent bible believing church that stands solely on the Word of God.
	
	If you can, please open up your bibles to the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 10, & beginning at verse 1. Today, Pastor Allan will be digging into a paradoxical teaching on the subject of divorce. For those of you who don’t know, a paradox is a statement that seems to contradict itself, however it actually expresses a valid truth or principle. In the bible, there are many examples of Jesus using this device to convey fundamental truths, specifically here in Mark chapter 10. So please stay tuned as Pastor Allan teaches us about the response Jesus gave when He was asked if divorce was lawful.

                                      Today, we learned a portion of what the Bible has to say about the subject of divorce. In today’s society, people get divorced for any reason that they want to; however, this practice is against the Word of God. You see, God never intended for His children to get divorced. He said in Genesis that a man should leave his father & mother & shall cleave to his wife & become one flesh. However, due to the hardness of man’s heart, the Lord made provision for divorcement, primarily to protect the women from being cast away by their husbands for petty reasons. We also learned that God loves the sinner & not the sin. When the woman caught in the act of adultery was brought before Jesus, he did not condemn her, but simply said, “Go & sin no more.” 
                                      
                                      Now, if you have been struggling with divorce, understand that the Lord has not left you alone. He has promised that he would never leave you or forsake you. God’s promises are for His children & to make sure that you are His child, then just ask Jesus to come into your heart & save you. This way you can fully know 100% that you are saved & that you will go to Heaven.

                                      If you’re not sure how to pray, feel free to pray along with me right where you are, at this exact moment…Dear God, I am a sinner & I need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood & died for my sin. I am willing to turn from my rebellious ways, & invite Christ to come into my heart to become my own personal Lord & Savior. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

                                      If you have just said this prayer, then God forgave your sins & will take you to Heaven when you die. You see, the bible says in Romans 10:13 that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, and if you meant this with all of your heart, then you too will now have eternal life.
